LEDs have continued their victory procession throughout the last years. They are available in thousands of shapes and colours and being used in many applications. They have a low cost of production, versatile applications and high power efficiency making them perfect for everyday usage. No wonder they are being used in many different industries and building types like warehouses, shopping malls or train stations.
Their versatility and many variations mean however, that keeping a stock of the useful and efficient lights is difficult. The sheer number of different types would overload any warehousing solution and the cost of stock-keeping would destroy the cost-efficiency of the product. Thus the need to be delivered reliably from production to the place of application. As with many industrial components, LEDs are mostly produced in China and need to get quickly from there to their global destinations. Quite often this means bypassing a warehouse and instead delivering a batch of product direct from the port or airport to the final recipient. The order cycle is tight and often a challenge.
Organizing transport and delivery
Before a transport can be started in the right way, questions need to be answered: Where are the LEDs being produced, which type of LED and what is the volume and weight of the shipment? Which customs regulations need to be observed? Are there additional rules which will be applicable for the transport? And above all: When will the goods need to arrive at the final customer?
